aiden kelly (ackles) is a musician. he always has been, and he always will be. but there mere thought of going on without the love of his life, mina quinn (kelly), kills him. he still sees her on a daily basis, even though he knows she isn’t really there. they talk all the time, but she leaves when aiden asks her why she killed herself. his muse is gone, his purpose vanished, and he has nothing left to live for.

that last part wasn’t exactly her choosing.
when eva is paired up with the reckless vance stern (ferguson), her view on politics, america, and life itself are all turned upside down. stern, known more for his playboy ways than his successful policies, is america’s badboy. he comes into work hungover, sometimes still drunk, he hits on the interns, and he has a “frequent fornicator” card. he drinks, he smokes, he curses like a sailor, and poor little ava is stuck with him.

dean could only look at the ground in front of him. he didn’t know what to say. he could feel the familiar choke rise to his throat, the few breathless, dry moments he knew all too well. the ground was covered in black; black what, dean did not know. scorched feathers still lingered in the air. they slowly floated down from their high, holy heaven to the cold, lifeless, sinful earth. death was all around dean, but not in death’s usual bony form. death had taken on a new form, and it terrified dean more than anything ever had.

three boys are sitting in a lecture hall at columbia university. the one closest to the wall, andrew, is looking a few rows down at the back of the head of a pretty blond girl. the boy to his right is twirling a pen with his fingers, occasionally inking the paper with the name, “henry.” next to henry is avery, a baby faced kid staring intently at his professor. avery takes detailed notes vigorously, while the other two boys could care less.across the campus is a library where two young gentlemen are sitting together. they are both looking at the books in front of them, but their expressions show nothing but disdain. they look up at each other and one of them shrugs. keiran lets out a laugh while his twin brother, riley, closes his book and stands up from the table.——the boys all meet at a cafe near their school. they watch as men in suits walk past them, talking on their phones and carrying briefcases. cars drive by and the boys only look at the nice ones; mercedes, bmw, cadillac. ——andrew goes on a date with the blonde girl from his lecture, anna. he explains to her that him and his four friends made a pact in high school to all go to columbia. their incredible sat scores and fathers’ deep pockets promised them all spots, and so they went. annabelle goes home with andrew and just like that, they are together.——avery is in class the next day, tapping his foot nervously. henry puts his arm around his friend and tells him not to worry. they both get their papers back from their professor, henry with a 97% and avery with an 87%. henry thinks nothing of it but avery is devastated.——keiran and riley are sitting in their father’s dining room, waiting for their food to be served. their mother is sitting quietly, smiling at absolutely nothing. the help comes around to bring them their meal and the boys’ father fills them with conversations of the economy and the real estate market.——benjamin hurst is reading the newspaper. his wife, leslie, comes over and gives him a kiss on the cheek and a cup of coffee. he smiles up at her and says, “it’s gonna be grand, leslie. just grand.”——the five boys are sitting around a table. they don’t know where they are. avery’s feet are tapping nervously and henry is coughing. benjamin hurst enters the room, arms outstretched as if he is embracing his long lost sons. “boys,” he announces and reveals to them his plan. they are to work for him, he says, and every single one of their troubles will go away.——avery says no. no, no, and no again. henry tries to reason with him, but avery says no. he thinks it’s too dangerous, too stupid. riley is laughing his head off, andrew is calling anna, and keiran is smiling to himself. this is genius, they think.——the next monday, the four boys are sitting and their own individual desks. they have phones, headsets, computers, lists of people. they call these people and tell them to invest in stock. stock that doesn’t exist. they are all charming, them and fourteen odd other men and women, and they are all extremely good at their jobs. they go out for drinks with everyone else, and suddenly, they are invincible.——henry picks up his mail from the front desk. he goes up to his room and opens a letter with no return address. “screw you, fag,” is written on it. henry looks around, horrified, as if someone is watching him right now. he folds the letter and shoves it in the bottom of one of his draws.——anna and andrew are fighting. andrew begs her to stop and tells her to go in his top draw. she does, and her heart stops. in front of her sits a tiny blue box.——the four friends meet at a club; andrew is the only one to bring a woman with him. he announces his engagement to anna and they all celebrate.——avery is sitting at dinner with his father. his father asks about avery’s old friends, and avery tells him that they’ve simply grown apart.——avery sticks with school, but they other boys’ attendance falters. soon enough, henry and riley drop out. keiran and andrew stay in columbia but don’t do well. ——the stock market crashes. the recession has come. benjamin’s business is steady, but his staff informs him that he may have a problem.——fbi agent carson grande is studying his files. the thickest one is of benjamin hurst. other files include those of keiran and riley murphy, andrew corrigan and henry vissichelli.——keiran is walking from his car up to his apartment. a man comes from around the corner and keiran freezes. “sorry, man,” he laughs. “you scared me.” the man’s hood falls off. he is shaking and crying. the man stays in keiran’s way. he moves his jacket and pulls out a gun.——the four boys are sitting in the hospital room, waiting for the news. heads in hands, fidgeting legs, sniffy noses. the doctor comes out and tells them that keiran’s okay; the bullet missed his heart by just a millimeter.——agent grande is standing by. he watches as the friends all talk and laugh, not a care in the world. he is disgusted by their blatant disregard for what is going on. benjamin doesn’t come to the hospital; it is too dangerous to be seen with all of the boys together. he sends his condolences in the form of his wife.——an officer informs the friends of the motives of keiran’s shooter. he lost his job and most of his money from investing in something keiren told him to. his wife left and took his two year old daughter with her.——UNFINISHED.
